To be honest, what might do a bit more good is changing the back room staff for new blood - after all, they're the ones who come up with the ideas and write the scripts, all Clarkson, May & Hammond do is say what's on the autocue.

Didn't Clarkson once say they got an award for best unscripted show, which was funny as he'd spent days writing some of it? :? :|

Top Gear: is the new Stig a woman?

The mystery of the character’s identity has become such a talking point that Sabine Schmitz’s name has already been mooted as a potential candidate.

I did think Stiggy looked a bit short when taking the Atom round. However, given the profile Ms Schmitz has with the TG audience, it would seem an awful waste to use her in such a limited capacity in the show. I'd much rather have her as a 'fourth presenter' than Tiff for example, and she has done the presenting role on German Top Gear.

Considering they trashed Skodas with little thought in the past, this was quite a turn around. Not enough to make Clarkson sell his AMG Mercedes though.

I'm not joking I had a Yeti behind me being driven like a twat when I went to get Emily from nursery. I can only presume he watched Top Gear last night, looked out onto the driveway and went "hells yeh I gots one of them".

And, of course, even more who can.

X3 drivers must be worse then given that a) they still drive a pointlessly large vehicle, b) with a BMW badge on it but c) have to overcompensate for the inferiority complex developed from not being able to afford an X5.

I had to laugh at that drag race last night.
I guessed that they'd fitted it with nitrus. I never though they'd put a whole new Jag engine in.

I just wish the likes of DHL used that van.

I wonder whether they'll end up getting away with the 'Mexican sports car' discussion...

Didn't they say the engine was out of an XJ220? 8-)

I remember a few years ago they put the 220 in a drag race against some newer supercars, and it annihilated them. Of course, they would have hammered it on a lap of the track but, in a straight line, they didn't get a sniff. :D

I thought it was all a bit 'meh' tbh :|

And even I thought they were starting to take the Mexican thing a bit far ( :o @ myself).

Indeed.

One review in an entire show? Pathetic.
