Safari park was hilarious and proper frightening. At least with this scripted show, you actually worried a bit!

I think that the Rhino scene was worst of all. Those fibre glass coffins would have offered no protection against a charging rhino. That and no one had a gun, and were certainly not close.

Another program and another road trip to another country, but I missed the very beginning- Can someone please explain why the hell Jeremy drove the Yugo? I did understand the rest of the road-test, but not why he didn't drive the (real) Bentley. Loved the drag race. I know I've seen fast cars on Top Gear before (once or twice, LOL) but the way the Merc shot past Jeremy like he was standing still was awesome I've had a driving experience last year in an Audi R8 and AM DB9, but you can't go all that fast unless you know how to handle the car, know the track and don't mind really putting your foot down hard and hoping for the best. I think that I got up to 90mph in the R8, and I've been faster in the work cars. What I would like is a place offering a high speed straight line drive- two or four trips down the runway screaming "Oh my Gooooooooooooooooooood!" And I wondered how long it would take Woss to make some sort of homosexual comment, and although I didn't time it, it was about 30 seconds before he asked Jezza if he was "coming out"

Bentley pulled out of the review, so Jeremy drove the Yugo and just pretended it was the Mulsanne instead.

When they started to imply that most of the cars were stolen in Albania, I thought to myself "Here we go again" - not quite as offensive as the Mexican comments were to them, but you don't want to p!ss off the Albanian Mafia! Not a classic episode really, the hot-hatch round-out was possibly the most pointless 9-minutes of the series, considering that you can't buy 2 of the contenders, and the 3rd one will probably never by made! The bank heist bit was a bit silly as well.

Yes it was like Roy Hattersley pulling out of Have I Got News for You and being replaced by a tub of lard. Not a good thing to do, people will remember it for just that reason.

That was a very fine episode. Just trying to remember if Merton / The Lard managed to win or not.

I think he did. That was the time when Merton would memorise every newspaper he could read.

Yes Merton and the Lard won.

I tend to disagree. The whole point about the bank raid was that it was silly. Nobody in their right mind thinks the Top Gear trio are actually going to rob a bank but it allowed them to show some footage of the cars being driven fast and, you have to add, footage of someone doing a drift turn round a hairpin bend in a Skoda Fabia, which is utterly stupendous. I thought this was one of the best 'vanilla' Top Gears (i.e. not a special) in ages. Yes the fact I couldn't buy any of the hot hatches is stupid but, being realistic, I can't buy any of the cars they do track tests on because I could never afford any of them - I don't see the functional difference to me between testing a car that's sold out and a car that isn't sold out but costs £250,000. I thought the studio pieces were good although the Ross interview was a bit rambling and I thought the Albanian trip as a whole was very entertaining in a frivolous kind of way - yes it was rather scathing about certain aspects of life in Albania but if the Albanian girl in the audience thought it was a laugh I don't really see how anybody else can get their knickers in a twist over it. And, again, it's a road test of cars I would never buy anyway, so I don't really feel let down if it doesn't include talk about depreciation and service intervals. Jon

I was slightly annoyed by the fact that they didn't put the Volvo round the track at the same time as the Focus and Subaru, given that the Focus and Subaru aren't available for purchase anyway (realistically).

Given it's effectively a one off, maybe Volvo wouldn't let them? And "I think he may actually be a massive idiot" is my new favourite phrase. Jon

The track test is for production & UK road legal cars. The Volvo isn’t a production car, so it didn’t get run.

The Stig's choice in music was, errr, appropriate.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.
