That was one thing that I noticed actually - I thought TG was filmed ages in advance, yet Ross made a pointed reference to the Mexican furore. He'd have had to do the SIaRPC in the last week to know that wouldn't he?

Weren't they little Chevy (Daewoo) cars? Or are we talking about something different.

Maybe. The police cars chasing them after the 'bank robbery'. They looked like Fabias but I wasn't actually paying any attention to the bonnet badge. Assuming they weren't some bespoke suped-up version it was rather surprising to see one of them going sideways on dry tarmac.

I think the studio stuff is recorded on the Thursday or Friday before the episode is broadcast, I read somewhere.

Incidentally, did anyone notice the very tasty blond girl in the audience, she was stood behind Hammond in the news section and also popped up in a black coat at the front of the crowd later on...

and a little while later, again behind Hammond...

Oh, and again at the very end, behind Clarkson...

I'm guessing they put all the pretty ones at the front.

For the news section to be even remotely up to date they need to film not far from the broadcast date. As for Stig's music, well that could have been changed quicker than you could say 'This has been shopped'.

I think they've pretty much admitted that's the case isn't it?

I'd imagine it's full of the blokes with beards who like to build kit cars and drink Real Ale.

There was one Top Gear where I swear they had four supermodels in the front row, I didn't hear a single word of what the presenters were saying.

If that's supposed to be tasty, the back row lot must be right bunch of moon pigs.

Jonathan Ross tweeted in the week about going to the show IIRC which is why I knew he was going to be on.

I wonder how that will work? The chinese stig really being a driving examiner so never breaks the speed limit, and so all cars get the same speed. At least if this was during Mao's presidency they would be wearing regulation jackets and all carrying the little red book. Though I suspect that they will have a lot more motor bikes as these are more affordable to the locals even if they are Harley Davidsons. I do suspect that it will be very successful as the chinese do love their cars, particularly Buicks.

That’s the trouble with some people; they want to live in a democracy but don’t like it when people around them speak freely

Gentle reminder that it's nearly Top Gear time:

Quote:
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May set out to buy second-hand convertibles and find some of the unusual pitfalls to watch out for when buying a used-car bargain. Jeremy is on the test track in the powerful Pagani Zonda R, while actor Simon Pegg is the Star in the Reasonably Priced Car.
