F1 cars are rare, so u are lucky photographed this one back in 2008, took the photo whilst driving past them, expressions on their face was just lol

You do have to know how to use it properly and what situations to use it in. I only got mine after using two other people's f/1.8 lenses and seeing what I could and could not do with them. I also got it at £50 off, which was nice. Mark

Are you sure you bought this lens bratty, I thought you got a slightly different one? I have the same lens as Timark and its a fine piece of kit and very enjoyable to use.

I've always been disappointed with the combo-lenses that come with modern cameras. My old film SLR came with a f1.8 lens as standard (bought it in about 1982). I miss the very short depth of field you get with such a lens, it is also very useful for low-light situations, where you don't have a tripod and can't really use a flash.

I see Portsmouth, but that last pic looks a lot like Millennium Square in Bristol?
[edit] scrap that, I think I remember it now... in Portsmouth obviously. Doh!
