Just been on holiday to Crete. In one particular restaurant we went to, they had a dish that could unite some future polls – Cheese Pies.

These are pretty popular in Greece and Crete, they are known as ??????????? which is pronounced 'Tyrop-itakia' and they are called pies but look more apple turnovers but with cheese in them instead of Apple (of course).

Edited to add, it edited my Greek spelling of the word with question marks.

I've been making cheese pie for years. I may have even made some that shape, and called them cheese somosa.

I usually use cottage cheese, strong Cheddar, egg, garlic and herbs. If it's a big pie I might add onion and potato. If they're little, I tend to leave them undressed and call them tarts.
