Yes Bratty, he is foreign... Foreign English that is.

He also happens to be one of the best engineers I know, (in the real world)

Is that a real engineer, or something software related?

We worked together on a few contracts, mainly desktop support, with a few XP roll-outs thrown in for good measure.

I'm guessing that's not "real" engineering in most peoples books, as there is no drilling into the ground or... whatever the hell else you "real"engineers do!

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I swear I can hear the cymbal tree shedding it's leaves in the distance. And someone's just walked into the tom/snare bush.

jonbwfc I was behind her in a queue today - but I wouldn't describe it as 'bushy'.

I saw an American film earlier and one of the characters said data, not darta.

Only a bit part though so couldn't find out what their nationality was.

They don't all say darta.

Same applies with rodeo and evolution amongst others. Not unlike the UK, the difference can often be found in people from the South West. At least that's how I've found it in my experience, when over there.

One of my biggest internal struggles is that darta almost sounds a much more natural plural to the singular. Bah!

Yeah, but he was French, so his English pronunciation could've been questionable ;)
