I've seen one episode of the gadget show, where they were looking at kitchen gadgets (and as other on here will testify, I love gadgets and cooking), and by the end of it I seriously wanted to hurt someone.

I get that way with cookery programs, and also gardening programs and reality shows, and religious programs, and yoof programming. Maybe I am just picky, thankfully there is the off switch.

A History of Ancient Britain
Coast is long in the tooth, but still washes up new stuff, with stunning imagery
BBC Parliament, covering the despots who claim to control us.
And don't forget BBC 4 is big on the arts and music programming right now.

There's far more worthwhile TV, not counting radio at all, on the BBC than the shallow "entertainment" they pump out. You only need to look for it.
