What's the cheapest place I can get a .co.uk domain name from? I don't care about hosting because I have my own space I can point the URL to, I just want the name. I currently have my domain names provided by 123-reg.co.uk but they aren't the cheapest.

I have used Namecheap.com before, a co.uk name would be around £5.56 at current conversion rates (all prices are in USD), that's for a year. You have to buy it for two years though, so that's £11.13... What were you quoted before?

I use UKREG as they give a free .co.uk with every .com and they used to be the cheapest. There's a £2.50 a year charge from Nominet in every registration before you start so you'll never find it cheaper than £5 to register a name (as there's a 2 year minimum & companies need to make money)

1&1 are £2.99 a year, 2 years minimum. It's pretty much the standard rate. They're reliable and easy to use; just don't get suckered into buying extras you don't need.

for what it's worth we use web-mania.co.uk , and the service is brilliant I think we are hosting 120 or sites with them and never had a prob ,It's damn sight easier than trying to deal with Spanish provider's.
