What has happened is horrible and I feel for those who've lost possessions, homes and more importantly loved ones. With that said though that image is freaking awesome!!

I got to mucking about with a macro and a lightbox. Kept me quiet for an hour or two. Scalpel by Snaptophobic, on Flickr

Like this. I need to keep my eyes peeled too - I've got some other objects I want to photograph as well. Probably do something similar to the bulb pics on my Flickr, but the most recent thing is an old gert big valve that my father found in a box.

Do you know the model number? A lot of them need around 6.3v and you can physically see which legs the cathode element is attached to, but if it's really old it might only need 2v. If it's really big it might need more. Start low with one AA battery if you can't be sure. You can always add more juice, but you can't un-burn it!

I'm continually astounded by the amount of specific, technical knowledge there is on this forum. Talk about psychology, there's a specialist, talk about film photography, there's an enthusiast, talk about the specifics of screw threads, there's a professional ready to set you right or put you in your place. Here's to you x404!

Nope, I don't. It measures about 8 inches tall, has 5 prongs on the bottom, and inside it, in pencil, someone's written 161074, 52, 56 in 3 places. Hey, I could just take pictures next week...

Owner's wife came into work this afternoon and I vehemently dislike her, so I decided to leg it as it was such a nice day....

There you go. Out of interest, what's an acceptable size for most peeps?
I'm running full HD here and will be when I go away. So I went for 1280x960 and as I host my own images, there's no resizeyness.
