I really like his documentaries covering war campaigns, great battles and missions, his enthusiasm makes you realize just how bizarre and risky a lot of them were.

Yes the documentary about the raid on St Nazaire was very well done.

Watched episode 5 last night with the combine-harvester snow plow and thought it was average but one thing that did make me spit my tea out was Jamie May driving into the Petrol Station thinking he'd help them out by plowing through a mound of old dirty snow which in fact was covering a car.......(ok I know it was staged) I think because the show had been fairly lame up this that point I'd forgotten what I was watching, forgot about the first class acting and stunts and found it really funny....

Yes, it's very predictable.

Yes, and iirc, it isn't the first time that he's committed such an offence on camera.

Pretty average series imo, highlights for me - the transit van drag race and the snow plow incidence with car under the pile of snow.....

The only bit of this series that really stood out for me was the snow plough :(

To be honest, I can't see any of those type of incidents as accidents any longer- even if they are genuine f*** ups. With the bizarre situations they put themselves in, there must be enough entertainment value without setting anything up.

Now, although I still like the show, I tend to cringe, rather than laugh, at the depths I think they've sunk to in the name of car-related entertainment. If the accidents were all genuine, I would find the whole thing much more agreeable- although you would have to wonder at the BBC, setting those three lunatics loose with dangerous technology, in the sure and certain knowledge that they would probably cause much (unscripted) mayhem.
