Don't you just love Google Street View!
I was just thinking about my time in japan and where I was living and going there. Went onto Google Maps and found the house I lived in and also the school I went to!
But, I then thought about my cycle route that I used every day for 5 weeks (there and back) and I was able to trace most of the route using street view!
LOL, I guess you just never forget some things. If you dropped me off at the house now I'd be able to find my way to the school with no problems at all! And it's a 6km route!
LOL, so many memories!

My wife and I found her family home in North Cyprus on Google Maps. Street View won't make its way there any time soon...if ever. She grew up in a very small village.

It wasn't really LIVING in Japan. I was there for 6 weeks in a home stay so I was sort of living in Japan. Would love to properly live there though. It was about 3 and a half years ago now

I seem to recall you mentioning it at some point...
Street View is really helpful. My family came to meet Faye and I in her Mam's house in Carmarthen, equipped with the post code, Dad could see what the road and house looked like so he would know when he got there (he doesn't trust GPS/SatNav).
I recall having to go to some office to be interviewed when I applied for my passport and I virtually walked from the train station to the office in street view so I knew where I was going, I'd never been to Reading before so didn't have a clue about where to go.

I have to do home visits and using Streetview helps ensure I go to the right place. The sat nav has taken me to the wrong house/side of street a few times.

Instead of staying in a hotel or b and b you live and eat and watch tv etc... With a family. I arranged it through the school I was studying in. It helps a lot with learning the language too! I paid to stay there obviously but I paid the school who then arranged payment to the family.

My mother and I enjoyed a little stroll around Cornwall while I was staying in France last year, checking out the flowers in my grandmother's front garden

Between Street View and the various documentaries you can watch, there's really no point going outside any more. Far safer to stay inside, plus the reduction in travelling is better for the environment.

going out in Paris with my SLR in daytime and night I feel 200% safe, even when going through the tube tunnels, at night too again, I felt very wary taking out my SLR in Glasgow though but Paris no problem
