Except it's not. It's 6 months away. It would've been coincidental if it had happened on the 11th September, but it didn't.

Have you heard all the excess of stupid emanating from the USA about how this is what you get for bombing Pearl Harbor in 1941?
Are these people serious? I mean, isn't dropping two atom bombs on cities, and firebombing Tokyo enough revenge?
Sometimes I despair at how much stupid there really is in the world.

Yes the US does seem to have rather a lot of them, though shamefully we have a few of them here in Blighty.

Where the hell they saying that? Like you say, I would have thought they should at least carry some guilt about double nuking them. I wonder what they'll say when the fault line causes a similar event in Florida. It will happen.

I can't find the original source, but someone cut and pasted Facebook status posts and comments into this image... http://i.imgur.com/eFYYe.jpgIt's all over Twitter, too, if you feel brave enough to hunt the idiots down. There's been a lot of sensible people I follow who've been tutting over it. http://twitter.com/#!/mattthomas/status ... 6963786753

OMFG, they actually mean it... "Googl Pearl Habor death toll" FFS! Do any of them know nuking them killed getting on for a quarter of a million people? Mind you it doesn't sound like they know anything of history not that that's even relevant. What a bunch of twats. Glad I'm not on twitter, I just hope there're some Americans on there balancing out the opinion put forward by the redneck halfwits. Edit: Saying that, in other situations I'm sure halfwitted Brits could come up with similar crap.

True enough. I don't think there's proportionately any more stupid in the world than previous historical levels. I just think it's easier for stupids to make themselves more apparent to the rest of us.

I doubt that it is rednecks. They are usually so thick that they would have little knowledge of history, plus unlikely to be twittering anyway. I suspect that these are more likely comments from so called educated religious citizens, who think that the bible is literal and will see this as another sign of the return of Jesus or something. Yes we have a few like that here unfortunately.

Horrible events, but as Prof Cox says, the plates shift because we live on a molton core that gives us our magnetic field. If it didn't happen nothing would live.
Doesn't help those in Japan right now though.
