So should I stay or should I move to pastures new.

Its really bad here at the moment not enough hardware and repair work so I went back to working in a restaurant, now that has finished
and no sign of any new work,
This could change in the next 4-6 weeks but that leaves me with no cash and its not certain that there will be any work.

So any suggestions and or ideas. :? :?

Don't return here

I've got two last irons in the UK fire and then I'm off. This country's a joke.

Quite. And there's not much chance with work, either.

Yes but Spain is worse with 40% youth unemployment and so much closer to default, and another banking crisis. Personally I would return as things while very bad here, and likely to get much worse, Spain is going to be even tougher. My parents have place out there and they report that the flights to and from Spain are nearly empty and people are simply not going to their own places in Spain because of the uncertainty here.

It really depends if you have any connections over here. I was just talking to a friend about moving to Turkey. He ran a bar there, and loved it. Unfortunately his wife didn't so now he's back in "this sh!thole" as he describes old blighty...

Sorry, can I just ask, but what's so bad with the UK at the moment?

Sure I'm not a homeowner, (or plan to be one anytime soon) or drive, or have children, or use public transport... but when was the end of the world announced? Did I miss it? I guess that'd be not watching TV, listening to radio or reading the papers failing me again...

Carry on, old fellow. Whatever happens can pass you by. We'll worry about it for you. ;)

UK has jobs if you're ready to do something a bit tough like bus driver, night shifts or whatever.

I do sometimes wonder if I'm the only person to prefer my little patch of Britain to anywhere else in the world. The only reason I'd want to leave is the cost of living here; if I had a purely on-line business I could move somewhere cheaper. Preferably somewhere were the girls are better looking too

I'm not a fan of the dismantling of some of our most glorious institutions, in particular the health service, but I have to say it's generally better than a lot of places.

My parents love it in France, but it's too darned hot for me. I seriously can't visit in the summer; this year I'm going to Skye in July - much more to my taste apart from the damned midges

I guess that's my point though, am I living the dream of "ignorance is bliss" - when I should really be sitting up and taking note? I guess I wouldn't even know what to do even if I did get myself all worried like....
