I started work at 7 am this morning. Now I'm sat at home waiting for Cisco to call me back to troubleshoot a firewall. And even if that gets done inside of 10 minutes I'm still going to be working till 11 on all the other stuff I'm behind on. And then I'm back in at 7 :(

I hear it's just as busy at all the other IT support outfits in London, lots of jobs going here.

Lots of jobs going, as in contracts to be had, or as in vacancies being made? I understand the latter's rough, but you need to manage your employer/client expectations if that's the case. If it's the former, how's that a bad thing?

Ahh any vacancies for old juniors. :) :) :)

I am looking around to see if there are any training courses but trying to figure out which direction ,so far I have only done a lot of hardware some data recovery
virus removal etc etc, so it would seem that i need to specialise in something.

I feel I might be somewhat biased at this point. If there was a poll, you can probably guess that I wouldn't vote for pie ;)

£1 a bottle is about right for a London offy and we had the sun out today... what kind of place does that money get you? And in what kind of neighbourhood? It's more than half my (half of the) rent on our 2 bed one floor flat in a decrepit Victorian terrace on a main road.

And how much is a beer in the local pub? Much more than 1€, if the offy price is already 1.16€

One of the local pubs charges £3.05 a pint during the week and £3.25 at the weekend. So it is getting stupid.

I'd definately reconsider your "-1 for the money". ;)

I've heard of the £5 pint in some parts of Soho recently.

I wouldn't be suprised. We've certainly not seen it freeze at £4.

Ciggies are definitely cheaper there. As are many other things. Overall if you make enough to cope and add in the other benefits of spain such as the weather and attitudes of people then it could still be better to be there.

50p for a pack of smokes in Kenya. In fact Duty Free is actually more expensive than the high street. :D

Only one smoking hut for the whole of Nairobi CBD.
