So now we know that Master Chief really is a Lego creation.

Wow. This thread is a major resurrection. Since I last read this thread, our collection of lego at home has grown massively. We (my two kids and I) have almost all of the Star Wars kits that have been released in the last couple of years, barring the silly ones- such as Anakin's Y-Wing, which I think is made up (but might be in the Clone Wars series) and the most expensive ones. We have also been tracking down a few of the older ones on ebay. Currently, I am drawing the line at the original kits with yellow headed figures. I've recently purchased the Tantive IV; which is a really cool model, but a pretty poor toy as it's really heavy and hard to pick up without bits breaking off it; and the Drop Ship with AT-OT which is awesome. I DON'T play with them myself, but I do love building them. The Millennium Falcon is being released again this year- an "around" 100 pounds mark model- as well as a couple of other kits from the original trilogy. My elder son has episodes I-III and Clone Wars, my younger son has Eps IV-VI. It saves arguments over who gets what kit.

Which version of the Millennium Falcon? There are two I know of at least. The big 10179 version with over 5000 pieces and the other 4504 with around a thousand pieces.

There will shortly be SIX versions of the Falcon in existence; There are three "standard versions" which are the mainstream toys; a mini, a midi and the UCS model. http://www.brickset.com/search/?query=millenniumEdited as link included spaces. I can't get rid of the Millennium Slizer- click Star Wars theme on the RHS. We'll be looking to get the new one when it's released this year. I bet anyone who's paid over the odds for a 4504 on ebay, purely as a toy for the kids, will be sick as a dog when this new model comes out at a retail price and not an inflated collectors' price.

Well I hope that they reissue the 10179 version. The prices asked on eBay are getting stupid. Over £1200 for a BNIB version.

I started making a cathedral using the Lego creator. I stopped when the price for the bits hit over £500. My previous castle model tipped £100. I think my Villa Savoye was quite expensive too. I may try a catherdral again with a plan rather than just making it up. EDIT: just over £118 will buy you the bits to make this: Complete with a Lego Le Corbusier.

Build them in Minecraft instead. All it costs then is a few hundred hours of your life Of course, you'll have to protect them from suicide shrubs

I have created a Lego ZX81 to scale using the Digital Designer. I am wondering if it's worth the £50 odd quid to buy it from them. I'd get a box with it.
The alternative is to drop in on a Lego store and see if I can buy the bits necessary in one of their Pick N Mix tubs.

A couple of screen caps of my ZX81 Lego model. It’s in Lego Digital Designer at the moment, so not a real object as yet. It should be around 1:1. I re-worked the model to accommodate some internals. Take the top off, and you get this: I went to Bluewater yesterday, where there is a Lego shop and a big “pix ’n’ mix” thing at the back. Sadly, not the right bits were available to make this model there. So looks like I’ll have to send off for this eventually. It’s a bit steep thought - £59
