Amazon Appstore Disables Android Security

I have to confess, I am finding security on Android increasingly confusing.

Wonder if the app still works? All my mates know I'm a tight arse so won't be shocked receiving a text like that :)

Why? Do you have an Android based phone? Are you ever likely to have an Android phone? If the answer is no then why be bothered? :P

Mr Cat is someone who likes to know things. People obviously ask him pertinent questions about such technical matters, and knowing something about it helps.

Besides, it never stops those who don't own iPhones from pontificating about them. :lol:

Many people have seen a few iPhone users who foam at the mouth, so we feel inclined to...

I have an Android handset, but like all smartphones it's good rather than amazing. The only reason I couldn't survive without it is because I've started to use the calendar to run my life :)

Depends where you hang around I suppose. Go on The Register comments threads, for example, and the amount of sheer hatred for the 'jesus phone' is quite astounding. If you could harness the impotent rage on that forum you could power all England. On the other hand, if you were to go on the iLounge comments threads you'd find the attitude to be in general much more positive towards Apple's brainchild.

The thing is people naturally tend to go to the forums where their own opinions are shared, so the influence of the internet is actually mostly to reinforce prejudices and polarise opinion. Thus the sensible thing to do is actually to try to stay as objective and seek out the less raucous 'opposition', who will be able to keep you 'honest' without resorting to flaming and abuse. In this case however 'sensible' is also kind of tricky, as it goes against our fundamental desire to be part of the group. I get a sense CC is trying to do that but sometimes his approach is a little too... passive aggressive :).

:)

Not quite sure about that last bit.
;)

Truth is I am a complex sort of puss and have all kinds of motives for discussion.

Sometimes I genuinely want to know. I run a practice where I do a lot of talking to a lot of people. For whatever reason they seem to think me a bit of a geek. So when I don't know, I know you guys will

Sometimes I like to confront my own pre formed opinions. I have more respect for the members of this forum that you might guess. Your opinions are valued greatly.

Sometime I feel a little "gnomish" and like to warm up a discussion. Though I hate conflict and would feel bad if I thought I had upset anyone.

I expect there are other reasons too. Ho hum, Oh look a mouse…

<runs after the mouse>

;)
