Even Wikipedia seems to have split the Who series count into two bits. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Doctor_Who_serialsAnyway, series 6 of Doctor Who starts soon - “this month” apparently. The BBC Web Site is gearing up for the first episode - the first to have principle footage filmed in the USA. Breaking with the current structure, the first story is a two parter. I am hoping for more of these as I find they develop the stories better. Series 6 will be split - we get 6 episodes soon, and the remainder in the Autumn. Anyway, a place to discuss what’s been, what’s to come ( FLAG THOSE SPOILERS) and anything else Who related for 2011.

My sister refers to her the “Jar Jar Binks of Doctor Who”.

Isn't it season 32, not 33?

Depends if you count the “year of specials” or not.

I don't. Clearly. Specials, whilst canon, are outside of standard seasons.

The 23rd of this month, apparently. Mark EDIT - Damn, the Wiki clicky states the 23rd too, never saw that until a repeat visit just now.

Trailer for Series 6 here if you're interested. I hope this series is better than the last one which, taken as a whole, I felt showed a substantial drop in quality from the Tennant era.

I beg to differ, though there were a few weaker episodes. As a whole I really enjoyed them. SO there

+1 Cant stand her - all looks and not a lot else - reminds me of the older Dr Who's where the assistants were just "totty"

This is clearly the correct way to view things. Wish I could watch, but I think I'm gonna have to miss out as torrents over wifi is bad and iPlayer doesn't work here (8-(
