I have two LAN cards in my computer. Is it any a advantage to connect a second router with same settings to second Lan port?

No...

If you are accessing two other computers, or the internet and another PC, then you might find it works out a little faster (will probably depend on drivers/OS). If your just surfing the web, you may find it a little (unnoticeably) slower, as the other NIC will be generating more traffic on your network (rarp etc.)

If you want a faster network connection (internally), make sure your NICs are gigabit, make sure you're using good cable that can handle gigabit (cat5e should do) and make sure the router/switch has gigabit ports (many routers that ISPs give are only 100mbit).

Just another thought...Would the two routers be connected to two different internet connections? Then it would probably be faster.

They would be connected to the only one broadband ISP i have..

Well that is your answer then the limiting factor on 1 Nic let alone 2 is your BB speed.

Unless you have som exceptionally clever software in your PC then it would only ever use the one connection and might possibly not work at all as the PC would have two different references for the same address.

You can get multi line data connections though (we have them at work) where you have 3 or 4 lines and a bloomin' expensive bit of kit that hides them all so it looks like one connection.

Some servers can support multiple cards on the same subnet, but on a workstation, unless you are downloading gigabytes of information from a dual-NIC server, it isn't worth it - and then you'd be plugging both NICs into the same router!

Using 2 routers, you'd need the second to be on a second subnet. One would be used as the primary for getting out onto the web, if that failed, the second would take over. Each NIC on each router would also only be able to see other devices on the routers, you couldn't aggregate throughput from one device on one router, because the second NIC wouldn't be able to see it, unless the routers were also bridged.

Then you have a nightmare, when setting up the routing tables...

If you are trying to boost BB speed, get a faster BB connection. Unless you have a SDSL dual-gigabit connection, you won't see any advantage using 2 routers...
