No Audi's are over rated and really expensive to run. My A3 cost £800 every time it went in the garage.

Ripped off :P

Mt A4 costs me no more than a VW, last time it cost £120 and £90 was for the part

Reminds me I need to get it serviced before my parents move as the garage does amazing work for very reasonable prices :D

 Blimey that's a lot for a small car.

Independent or branded garage? I could take my car to a Chrysler/Mercedes service centre, but they charge a lot. I take it to an independent, who I trust and has worked on my cars since I moved here. The charge for time taken, NOT for how much the technical manuals tell them it should take. So far, no problems with them. The Chrysler/Mercedes lot charged a lot more for an MOT than I am used to.

That's why I like my local Toyota dealer. They don't charge silly money (or anything coming close to silly money) for things.

My puma will finally be going to the scrap yard - had her about 7 years so she's had a good innings
How many miles did it have on the clock?

How heavy is a puma? Is it corroded? I've been looking for a fairly light car with a decent body but knackered mechanics for a little project involving a milk float and a small nuclear reactor...

Mine has decent mechanics and a knackered body. It's is heading to the scrap yard in the sky

I'm holding off on my "not a new iPad" post until I actually have news, however, my boss has just bought an ex-demo Audi S3 having opted out of the company car scheme. I explained to him that it's built on the same A-platform as the Skoda Octavia which caused me much hilarity and him much indignation until he confirmed it with the Audi guy (who reluctantly corroborated my assertion) and now he's quite happily calling it "the Skoda" as am I

ION he thought he was all bad@ss at the weekend because he was beeped by another S3 driver who was clearly 'cool' (light bars under his car, baseball cap on yadda yadda) and thought my boss was cool as well. I probed a little deeper into his 'down-with-the-kids' story and discovered that it didn't stand up to much scrutiny.... at the time he was beeped as being all cool, my boss had his 1 year old daughter screaming in the back of the car and he was singing 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' to her at the top of his lungs

My previous car was a Skoda Felicia, and there was a high count of VW and Audi components inside. The Skodas (and Seats) use older Audi platforms - so a brand new Audi won’t be Skodafied for a few years.

Take the tosser out of a BMW/AUDI or whatever and put them in any other car and what do you have? That's right a tosser.
And I'm sure everyone on here is a safe and considerate motorist all of the time. ;)

I'd rather be able to afford a Camarro though

That said, got overtaken by a Merc SL63 AMG, damn it sounded amazing overtaking me at a hell of a pace, the engine probably hadn't even broken a sweat

Imagine the surprise when an Audi lets you out at a junction because you had been waiting there a while ;)
