Sometimes lucky guessing in IQ tests can cause artificial scores. They should have negative testing. My IQ has never been below 150 but I really doubt I'm that clever. As above, you can "train" in IQ testing and do really well but still be a muppetus.

I think tests should be all-encompassing - a bit like the Krypton Factor - you test physical, mental and emotional attributes.

As for courses, I did Biology, Chemistry and Physics at A-level. No Mathematics. Consequently, I had to do a "Maths for Physics" course alongside it. It was great to learn about differentiation and integration but I swear I never used it during my A-levels Physics classes or exams!

All medical schools require Chemistry at A-level (with an A-grade) and there's a very good reason for this: it's near-impossible to teach properly at university whilst trying to teach Medicine. Biology is comparatively fairly simple and is built on substantially but Chemistry isn't built on as much. It does come in very handy and a lot of medical students who, despite doing A-level Chemistry and got an A-grade) struggled with simple Chemistry like moles, concentrations, drug dilutions etc. Meanwhile, I sped through that stuff. In fact, at one point it helped in a viva when I was asked to write out some chemical reactions - something I hadn't done since A-level and had to recall that knowledge. Thankfully I remembered it all very well and succeeded. :D

A-ha. Re-reading in daylight, when I'm properly awake. You're quite correct (as you know) and a stray apostrophe did make it in to my post.
Nicely spotted mister.

Don't you mean that the apostrophe, (it's an omissive apostrophe by the way, as opposed to a possessive apostrophe - yay! I teach English! ) didn't make it into your post?

</pointless pedantry> ;)

This post has NOT been checked for correct grammar, spelling or punctuation, so if you see anything wrong with it please write to me...

You'll find the address at I_Don't_Care.com
