There is an official Flickr app - CLICKY(not used it myself, but reports to be able to upload images taken from your iPhone/iPad etc) For most Flash website problems, there's usually an app for that! I've usually found if I have a problem with a particular website, do a search on the iTunes app store and there's very often an app (official or otherwise) that handles the same functions as the website.

TBH it is not a deal breaker for me. I can get by with wifi hotspots for those very very few occasions. What I am enjoying is the ability to use my iPad as a remote for iTunes, brilliant. especially as ALL my speakers are available as Airplay speakers. Now experimenting with Tunedin Radio especially good since the BBC iPlayer app no longer lists BBC7 in its new guise as Radio 4 Extra.

I know. I use it on my iPhone. I just found it odd that even the web based "simple uploader" still uses Flash as part of it's make-up. So that's Fb and Flickr that I need the specific applications for just to get images uploaded. I guess it's all image uploads that this happens with as I just tried Twitpic and that also won't let me select image to upload. Is there any site that doesn't use Flash as part of this process? Mark

The only way not to use Flash, Java or ActiveX that I know of is to use the POST method to send the file. This is a horrible thing to do because there is no way of giving the user any indication that anything is actually happening. It's fine for very small files, but for anything over a few K it's best to use an app of some flavour that gives user genuine feedback, and also more advanced error correcting and re-tries. I'm sure others on here know more about it than I though

Thinking about it, there's probably a cool way to do it with HTML5. However, that would mean a billion websites being redesigned - which is expensive when you consider all the testing required to ensure it works on every conceivable platform, including IE6. At the moment, these websites work on every popular platform in the world except Apple's. And there's usually an app for that...

iPads used more in bed than in bathroom http://www.macworld.co.uk/digitallifest ... 54&olo=rssI must confess I do use mine in bed as much as out of the bedroom. I watch TV and films before I sleep and then when I wake up it becomes my alarm clock and radio.

TuneIn Radio. There is a clock feature. You can decide if it is a week day alarm or weekend. I have it set to wake me up by radio each morning. It can only stream to one set of air play speakers so you can have it set up to use those in the morning as well.

When I have the funds I'll be getting it for mine but shop around … Amazon (for example) is selling it cheaper than Apple is. Mark

I have two questions: 1. When you have a page loaded in your browser on your ip*d, you go and open another tab, will other tabs keeps refreshing in the background? 2. Do they keep refreshing when you go and do something else, like write an email or watch a video? I feel very dirty after posting here, I think I need a shower. And a disinfection
