Well I would say that William looked more like Charles, and Harry like Diana (et al).

Well, I suppose we see what we see. For my part, when William smiles, I see Diana. I don't see Diana in Harry.

Anyway, it isn't anything to lose sleep over. :D

Unlike WIlliam's hairline - definitely more of a Windsor trait there...

I'm not sure but, even if it did exist - which it didn't, wouldn't it be restricted to the monarch rather than their consort?

*shudder*

Does somebody want to explain the above to me? I'm not aware of "first night" meaning anything other than a newly-wed couple enjoying their first night together.

Droit de seigneur is a term now popularly used to describe an alleged legal right allowing the lord of an estate to take the virginity of his serfs' maiden daughters. Little or no historical evidence has been unearthed from the Middle Ages to support the idea that such a right ever actually existed.

You're not supposed to upstage the bride, but I think Pippa looked the best. Great figure. :D

Well there's beautiful, there's elegant and there's sexy and they aren't all the same thing, although there are a very few women who can manage all three at once (the one who springs immediately to mind is Catherine Deneuve back in the day, but back to the point). Personally, I don't think it's 'seemly' for the bride to be too sexy. OK, in the vast majority of cases these days, in the west at least, it's not actually true but there is still the concept that the bride should be.. well, virginal, at least symbolically. You want the bride to be graceful, you want her to be beautiful, you want her to take your breath away but do you actually want her to be 'sexy'? I'm not entirely sure you do.

The maid of honour on the other hand, she doesn't have much significance in the whole ritual after all. She just has to match the bride in some sense (i.e. same colours & etc) and make sure the bride doesn't go arse over tit walking down the aisle. If she wants to look hot, that's entirely up to her. It would still be deeply crass to try to upstage the bride though. I'm sure long friendships/family relationships have been ruined over things like that many a time.

As someone who'se been best man at several weddings, I have no problem at all if the maid of honour looks fantastic 8-)

Unless you're in a Guns n Roses video.

Amen.

Always the bridesmaid, never the bride - the mantra Harry was using to remind himself who he's supposed to try shagging at the reception.
