I've seen documentaries that claim a large plane could hit the Pentagon and disintegrate into tiny almost unrecognisable pieces. I've yet to be convinced this is the case.

As for the moon landings, well, perhaps the film got fogged at the chemists and they had to recreate the photos in Area 51.
