The track pad on my netbook has buttons either side of the pad. For right clicking, I click the right one. I like to think that's the right way to do it.
For left clicking, I usually tap the pad. For dragging, I usually sticky double-tap because I find it awkward to hold the button and drag at the same time.
On the phone, left click is tap and right click is long-tap. I have used it as a track pad for the PC, but gave up after a short while because in all honesty a mouse is always better than a track pad for what I do.

Normally I'd disagree. (8+p When I had a laptop that had a separate button I would still tap to click and only use the button with my thumb when dragging items, but with the bigger trackpad - and no separate button - on my current MBP there's no need for that anymore. The odd time I'll hold down the trackpad with my left hand and drag stuff about with my right, but more often than not I tap to click and double-tap and drag. Mark

I can click anywhere, including here, and here, and here!</monkey>
I bought a Magic Trackpad, but I seldom use it, it just doesn't feel right somehow...The button on my MacBook died about six months ago, so I tap on that and tap anywhere. On my mouse I usually click the right hand side, I have secondary click disabled...

Clearly can't be the clit mouse otherwise men would never find it

I use the buttons on my notebook trackpad too. Left button for left click. Right button for right click. Middle uhm cursor-type button for scrolling up/down and left/right.
Works fine unless I work at night in which case, I use the trackpad for everything:
single tap for left click (double for double click, tap and hold for drag and drop) tap in top right for middle mouse button tap in bottom right for right click
