I’ve got a get-together with my Mum, sisters and their partners this weekend at Centre Parc's.
Being doing the CP meet up once a year for the last 5 years with mum doing all the cooking etc and us kids paying for the food and clearing etc etc….
Mum got new partner, he is a very good cook apparently but is also a scavenger, picking berries etc and……..picking up fresh(ish) road kill....
Menu on Friday night -
Game Pie.........
[LIFTED] that I’m not touching it….
Question is - Would you eat ROAD KILL?

No - plain and simple.
Never.
A poll perhaps?

How about a poll? Pie, but not game pie, should be a option though. [edit] Oli is a Ninja!

Only in a life or death situation. And I can't ever imagine when that situation could possibly come about.

As long as it was known to be fresh that would be fine with me. You can only really pick it up from a road you travel on daily to know if it's fresh though.

Yes but you do not find enough humans that are fresh enough.

Depends on the animal, condition/health of the animal (no Myxomatosis etc) and method of death (hit in the head, or a full on smash)

Never say never. If I saw a deer killed outright ahead of me by another vehicle then I'd be right on it. A pancake-flat vole? I'd probably pass.

I love game pie. Surely planning on eating game pie from roadkill would require knowledge that you'd definitely find something on the way up? Has anyone said that this game pie would be produced from roadkill?

Mum normally buys the food, preps it and then cooks it when we get to CP and then we kids and our partners split the bill so mum gets to eat for free as a thank you for organizing it all. So why the [LIFTED] they have decided to use RK is beyond me as they don’t pay for the food anyway…… might have to pay a visit to the rant thread in a minute
