You've just made me remember that I actually have too.

I have eaten rabbit and pheasant, but only when I know who's run it over!

Yeah I'd give it a a go. So much snobbery when it comes to meat. I was brought up to try things and if you don't like it don't have it again *shrugs*

Perhaps it's the savings they make by not shopping in Tescos that lets them go to CentreParcs...

Anyway, as above, depends on the condition, freshness and species, and when I last ate.

I have a special log here. Would you care to try it?

As for roadkill, if it was an emergency situation, yes. In this situation, I'd either bring my own food or not bother going.

As others have said, it totally depends on the details. Freshly whacked pheasant or bunny? Yes please. 3 weak old squashed badger? No thanks.

I'm pretty sure I've eaten RTA pheasant. I certainly know people who are very pleased when they hit one of the stupid things.

There is a road near Stoke Bruerne that is rife with rabbits and pheasants in the summer. ;)

I would and I have, but I'd be a bit nervous if it had been picked up and prepared by someone else. I'd still give it a go. It's a matter of trust I guess.

Provided I was confident of the source and knew it was fresh then I'd certainly give it a go.

I don't mean to cast aspersions but I have the feeling quite a few people who are voting option (1) would probably not be able to go through with it when faced with the er... grim reality.

Well you have the peel the hedgehog first.

There's also a difference between just eating something that has RK in it and having to scrape it up, prep the carcass and do the cooking.

I hit a rabbit at about 60mph once, I knew I'd hit it, but thought little more of it until I got to work; when one of the guys asked "are you keeping that?".

I looked at the front of the car and the rabbit's head was stuffed through my bumper, with it's ar$e facing forward.

When I said I didn't want it, he removed it, stored it in the fridge in the Laboratory and took it home after work. Apparently, it made a very nice pie.

The owner of the company I work for keeps stuffed wild birds.

He will pick up dead birds if he sees them (and they are still in tact) and stores them in the freezer at work in a sandwich bag.

The same freezer is used for storing our food and the fridge is used for milk and sandwiches etc...

Not the nicest thing to see when you're getting your lunch out.
