The following account is the typical behaviour of my sister and shows that whilst I love her because she is my sister, I have no faith in her as an adult - self-centred, egoistic, narcassistic etc:

I got up this morning to wash the car. Did everything I wanted to. Tried my best to clean the glass but ever since I lost my glass cleaning cloth, it's not been the same. Anyway, packed everything up and went inside. An hour later, my sister goes out to the town centre to meet with her friends. Forty-five minutes later, I spot a missed call on my phone. It's from my sister and it's from about ten minutes after she left.

Wondering why she tried to call, I text her. She replies asking if I left my glass cleaner on the wall. Evidently, I had but when I go to check, it's not there. So it's taken an hour after she's left for me to find out that I left something outside. She would have gone past it as she went out, so she could have brought it back in. She could have come back inside and asked me. She could have texted me. No. She tries to call but knows her phone cuts out on telephone calls. She has an unlimited text package. The glass cleaner was maybe half full, so it's frustrating. Yes it's my fault for having left it outside, but given that it was still there an hour later, she could have brought it back in.

So was in a Game (the shop) today and heard this delightful comment a child (i thought he was around 8 years old) to an adult (presumably his parent).

Kid - So like, the thing i like about it most is that the Announcer says like "Fatality" and then you press some buttons, like Up, Down, A, B and then you know that bone along your back? You take it out of the other person, that's the best part about the game.

- Yes, he was talking about Mortal Kombat.

And all this time the adult is just like "Mhmm, Uh huh, /nod nod"

After that i just turned around and walked out the door... didn't really feel like buying anything from there anymore.

Not really the shops fault. Bad parenting again.

Game do ID people. No 8 year old going to be served an 18 rated game. I remember someone (maybe on here) telling a story where a woman was refused sale of a game because she had a young child with her, and it was obvious that the game was for the kid.

Now I've just entered shangri la and I've got these two monsters chasing me around a bit by a waterfall. I've got two people with me who do shoot, but they don't seem to damage them no matter how much I run around. I managed to kill one of them once in the 500 tries, but I've had it now, life's too short.

Yeah, i wasn't really having a go at the store or anything, was just that i didn't feel like buying any games any more.

The attitude of the adult was what really got to me since whilst the child playing the game may not have been his "fault" (could have played it round a friend's or something), his approach to the situation (not quite positive reinforcement, but the lack of a negative attitude or explanation) was what irked me.

+ JJ, i think the story you were looking for was the one about a Woman who wasn't allowed to purchase either Alcohol or an 18 rated movie because she had her children with her... although you could actually be talking about another incident which was more "proper".

And on a side note, this has made me remember the time when i was in Blockbusters and a 10-11 year old Child actually tried to purchase Gears of War for the 360... they got turned down (thankfully) but the "cheek" of the boy .

In other news I'd just like to remind cyclists, especially ones of the 'racer' bike variety travelling at reasonably high speeds that yes, red lights at pedestrian crossings apply to you too YOU [LIFTED] TWAT

Next time when the tables are turned and I'm in my car rather than on foot I shall go through a red light and see how YOU [LIFTED] LIKE IT!

I know what you mean. I cycle and drive. Yes, I've been known to go through red but only at walking speed round a corner, basically a pedestrian walking straddling a bike, but cyclists can't complain about drivers when they can try to cause accidents themselves by racing through red lights and so on.

Yep, that just about covers it for me too.

So we did a huge refresh project so Office 2010 would install on all the machines here (something like 500 machines) and we have been promised a night out. Rather than choose somewhere central to the office or easy for people to get home from they've chosen a restaurant in bloody Harrow!!! And then he expects me to get a lift home with someone that drink drives!! Think I'll have to post this in ranting and venting thread too!

Wouldn't mind but find it hard enough to get home from a night out drinking when I'm reasonably local lol.
