Is the midlands full of idiots, or is it just that said idiots migrate west during school holidays? I'm fed up of the slow, painful accent and the stupid things people are saying in it. Here is a sample of the of the intelligent things I've heard today in the accent: "why is everyone walking the other way?", "the cars aren't stopping, do you think the traffic lights aren't working?" - Well according to the signage....., and lastly "if I cross the road the cars will stop". That last one seems a common trend since the half term started, people just seem to be walking out into the middle of the road, then yelling at cars that beep at them.

Just today, I left work, drove rather slowly and turned left on to a side road. Two young teen girls, clad in vest and shorts, blithely chatting away to each other did just that. I saw them before I approached the junction, keenly watching them walk across without bothering to stop, look or listen for traffic and then jump when they see a car approach. Bare in mind that there was about 1-1.5 car lengths between me and them and they still just stood there and gawped in the middle of the road.

Morons.

I was following someone earlier who just walked out into the road without looking. I bet if they had been knocked down without a witness that the driver would have been in trouble.

It's everybodies duty to stay safe, don't rely on others. :x

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

You would be amazed how many times that has happened to me. I have procedural memory problems which makes me lethal as a pedestrian yet still means I can drive. It surprised me but I still have a completely clean driving license.

This has been going on for a few years now, but seriously, did I miss a meeting where they said you don't need to use indicators anymore?

There was a big article in the paper today about the police's latest crackdown on driving and it was all about speeding, seatbelts and mobiles. Seriously, could somebody please target non indicators? Please? Speeders aren't the only dangerous drivers and if you don't wear a seatbelt, you're only endangering yourself.

Traffic would flow more smoothly if everybody indicated. And please consider pedestrians too you selfish car drivers all content in your little cocoon.

There's a fairly small roundabout near me and when waiting to get on nearly everyone leaving at the previous exit does not indicate. That means by the time you see them pulling off it's too late to join. If the cops sat at this roundabout they'd 'educate' hundreds of drivers a day. It drives me mad.

Fit an electronic device to cars that registers a turn or lane change, and charge the driver 50p if the indicator was not used. :)
