In the past several months I've won a gaming mousepad, Lost series 6 on bluray, a pair of Sharkoon x-tatic headphones and a hamper of champagne, port, biscuits and the like worth £200. :D

I've not won anything this month yet though. :( ;)

Two questions. You lost series 6 of what programme? Shouldn't that go into the tales of fail thread?

I have a freind who's been looking to buy one.

Sorry, John. Just a bog standard Transit van.

I claim my win now. Sold. £100 off the asking price.

Went to a PC World to get a budget laptop. Was served by a guy who was suspiciously old and knowledgeable. Turns out he's one of the four remaining official Microsoft Gurus in the UK  so officially not PC World staff, but blessed with actual computing knowledge!

Got a neat and informative tutorial on Office 2010 new features whilst the grumpy cow who did work there stood waiting impatiently for me to buy the laptop I'd chosen.

My cousin has been out of work for a while. At the weekend, he helped out a charity (paid) on a stand at a local show. Over the weekend, the 3 staff hired for the event made 8 sales, of those 8 sales, my cousin made 8 of them 8-)

They now want to hire him for 2 other gigs, one in Oxfordshire and one in Scotland.

The Scotland gig is on the weekend when we are in the UK :( but otherwise it is great news.

Now he is earning what's to stop him visiting you back in Germany?

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

It's only one gig so far! I'd imagine he's got other bills to pay first. ;)

Yep, after nearly 6 months of unemployment, I think he probably has other things that need to be paid for, before he can think about flights...

I had an interview yesterday. Although I was being interviewed for one particular job, it was mentioned that there were also options open for contract and freelance positions.

I got a phone call today. I'm back in Friday for "induction" as a freelance and working all next week, with a view to moving to contract staff as soon as possible. :D :D :D :D

Thanks to everyone who offered me luck and best wishes. I'm starting the big scary ride back into proper work again.
