Just bought my first new TV ever! At uni, I used a TV card in my PC. When I left home I took my 14" TV from the 80's. When my grandad died I got his larger 4:3 TV. When my brother-in-law bought a flat screen, we got his old 16:9 CRT TV. So for the first time ever, there's a shiny new flat screen in the house.

...and now you've got to spend three weeks on a rig, and not get the use of said new toy.

Yes, but it's expensive to find out for yourself

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Not surprised My GF had a big problem trying to find any jobs paying better in the same sector as a graduate, apparently it improves after a few years to a more acceptable level That said apparently my review the other week went well so getting a rise .... find out in 2 months

That is good news. Especially in this climate.

Proper paying lab jobs require a PhD. Graduate lab jobs are the equivalent of an apprenticeship whilst you try to get your PhD

Well it looks like I'm progressing very quickly and hopefully get to do more cool stuff at some point Find out what the rise is next month but see it the month after, interested to see what it will go to Saspro: Not really, a lot of lab jobs can be done without a doctorate level degree (though obviously this does also depend on the area of lab work) Seen PhD jobs going for under £20k too though
