RIM is on the downward spiral, there's no doubt about that. They have closing their eyes for too long pretending they everything is ok. It is not too late to turn it around but they are not doing themselves any favours by releasing a half baked tablet (admittedly everybody is doing that these days but...) and spinning the same old sh*t to investors and customers. Their official response was exactly what I expected from them: denial and ignorance!
Just admit that you screwed up and promise to fix it.
I know that BB is the right phone for me as prefer substance above form and I don't mind to make compromises to make sure it does very well what I need it to do (messaging and calls).
However more mainstream users are flocking to iph*nes and androids and it could be pretty soon that Blackberry will become the new Nokia.
Bold 9900 is a sign they've finally realised that they have to change. Also it is widely expected that they will release QNX OS (the one that is in Playbook) in phones next year but it will take some time to get consumers on board again. Their reputation is deteriorating together with the market share...
Saying that, every day I try very hard not spend £400 on the Playbook that "the whole world" hates (and I don't need but want). I am worried that very soon the day will come when they officially announce that the ability to use Android apps and I won't be able to resist anymore...
