http://www.google.com/+/demo/Google yesterday announced Google plus and what interested me was Circles. I do not like the way that Facebook lumps everyone in together. I have different circles of friends, Some from Sweden, Institute of Fiscal Studies, House of Commons, Family etc but would not necessarily put them together. My only concern was that it was Google and their data mining tendencies. Comments please.

Yeah, been looking at this and it looks very good.
Do you have a spare invite? Would love to have a closer look.

I'm interested in the fact that it's not FB. I've often thought that FB is getting a little long in the tooth, and although it has permeated almost everywhere, there will do doubt be something in the background ready to take over. Hopefully this could be it, something to keep FB honest. Anyone got any invites?

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

It certainly seems a better GUI that Facebook's - you can group people in facebook but it's a horribly laborious process, whereas (if the videos are anything to go by) in Google+ it's essentially drag & drop. I wonder if they'll get as far as venn diagrams . By the way, if anyone does have any spare invites, I'd be interested to see what they're doing with it... Jon

I do not have an invite. I have requested details when an invite is possible.

Yes they must. Occasionally you do get overlaps.

Isn't that the equivalent of 'make Rachel Riley look more like Kathy Burke'?

I'd rather have my scrotum waxed than let Google know any more about me, thanks!

About as interested as FB TBH, so not really. The one plus I see that it has are the 'circles' so you can parse different people into different units so your boss can be kept out of your friend conversations and your friends can't see your MI6 conversations.

Yes that is the one aspect that I like. Though this is Google so that is a big problem.
