Windows 7 can only use one sound card/output at a time.

What soundblaster is it? Can you connect the case headphone output to the card?

update: the reason that the onboard sound didn't work was that i hadn't enabled it in the BIOS. :oops: it's working now, but i still need to reinstall windows.

edit: I could've plugged the headphones into the back but it isn't easily accessible.
