I want Murray back!
I just heard him and I'd forgotten just how good he was.

I was listening to a BBC podcast about the change in engines, which is apparently for green reasons. Well considering the cars on the track are probably an minuscule fraction of a teams carbon footprint it does look like greenwashing. As someone who thinks that they are green I have no problems over the tech used though why not cut the emissions travelling?

The green effect within the sport will be minimal. I believe the hope is that engine advancement will make its way down to road cars.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Yes, but these advancements will happen anyway. The high oil price will guarantee that. Auto makers will want to sell fuel efficient vehicles regardless as the public demand them. I am not so bothered about the number of cylinders for the actual race cars as their impact is minimal. If they really want to limit emissions restrict the engine size to under 1800 cc or even 1500 cc. Leave the teams to try developing new solutions.

I enjoyed the race, although I'm a bit gutted for JB, and I don't think McLaren were all that much worse off than Red Bull, in race trim. Red Bull coped better with the disruption to their setup for quali, but McLaren looked reasonably on the pace during the race.
Nice of them to change the rules halfway through a season, to benefit Ferrari; some things never change.
BTW, I loved the shots we got from the wire cam.

I get the feeling that Mark Webber is already thinking he is on his way out of Red Bull. Disregarding team orders isn’t a sign of a happy chappy imo.

Did anyone else see Horner's response to the rumours about Lewis joining Red Bull?
He said he wasn't keen on the idea of having two top drivers in his team. Speaks volumes on his opinion of Webber.

Well, got back today from my trip to Silverstone, great race - but a shame that the British drivers didn't do as well as they'd have liked. The new "Wing" complex looks hideous in the flesh IMHO, but the new start/finish line was the right decision to move it to.
We were in the Village A stand, which had a great view of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th corners. Saw a fair few overtaking moves on the 3rd corner. The downside was our grandstand wasn't covered by a roof, so resulted in us getting drenched numerous times over the weekend! Ah well, it was worth getting a cold for.
I do wish Silverstone would sort out the parking and access roads properly though. This year, the top car park was closed for us plebs and only VIPs were allowed to use it I think. Well, we had platinum tickets and were turned away. So, they diverted us to the bottom car park, which was all well and good, until the end of Sunday's race when they locked the main gates to the car park/field. They then directed us to an opening at the back of the field through the woods on what can only be described as a dirt track, took over an hour to get through the woods and joined the A43 motorway which was equally as slow. I bet Silverstone didn't tell Bernie about that in their plans for the circuit!
I had to laugh when Christian Horner said that if Vettel and Webber had been the other way round in terms of track positions, they would still have told them not to overtake. Absolute bullsh1t!! Don't see Webber staying at Red Bull for next year and I can't say I blame him. Trouble is, where would he get a drive as good as the Red Bull and still have a chance to win over his team mate? Ferrari? No. Possibly Mercedes, if Schuey decides to call it a day? Maybe...

Yes Lewis is doing really well today. Just saw the Heidfeld accident. It would have been brilliant in HD.
