Wow. Get two retweets by people with a little clout and watch the Flickr views roll in.
Most of those views came in between 22:00 and midnight.

Well done. I’m heading for 36k ATM.

I got a spike last weekend after posting the ZX81 and Moon photos. It’s settled down again after that.

Feel the flickr love.
If anyone here was one of those visitors, thank you very much indeed.

TYpically, on the internet, that would involve a picture of a cat.

Typically I'd agree with you, but no one image spiked past what I would normally expect.
It seems that the visitors I had yesterday stuck around to view some of the rest of my Photostream.
I'm not complaining, I'm just a bit bemused by the massive spike.

Every now and then I get a spike. I got one yesterday - not a big as yours, but looking at what photos were looked at, it seems to be people trawling through my photo stream.

I am sure that there is an optimum way to arrange the stream of pictures to encourage maximum browsing.

I don't want to potentially bring a cloud along to rain on your parade, but would some sort of search-engine bot create such a spike in page views? (pure jealousy!) (although I've privated all my photos so I have no basis to complain really)

I would imagine that it is down to it being picked up by a news service like Digg or reddit.
