One day a week type of masters. Sounds very much like the kind of course some medical colleagues have embarked upon. A bit of extra effort but well worth it.
Go for it. Don't just complete it. Smash it!

I'm now giving it some real consideration. One of the deal makers/breakers would have to be whether I can reclaim the "crap cupboard", (which is a 6 foot by 3 foot room, currently full of crap) and turn it back into a mini office/study area.

I have a very similar sounding room - there's a desk in there, somewhere In the end, there's only two questions you need to ask yourself: 1. Do you want it? 2. Are you and yours willing to afford the necessary sacrifices? If the answer is "yes" then go for it!

If you can afford it, do it. I'd love to but finances (and time/work) just wouldn't allow.

If you start this year then the fees should be capped at whatever rate you started at. If you start next year when they've gone up then it will cost you whatever their rate is.
If you want to do it then go for it.
