Somehow that doesn't surprise me, it's basically a novelty shooter instead of something that can actually get your adrenaline pumping like COD or Battlefield. And you only have to look at Brink's current retail price... FPSs that aren't the above two games must be quite a risk :oops:

You say that, but I suspect Rage will do pretty well, as will the next Borderlands.

To be honest, if you (a software house) fancy wading into the over-populated FPS genre, you're going to have to pull off something quite special to win over the diehards and those who can remember past their last birthday.

Borderlands was a big risk, but was a huge payoff, brilliant game and I bought it on both the 360 and the pc

It really is quite a fantastic game - although I've slowed up on playing since my flatmate decided to blaze ahead of our co-op completion of it and is now something stupid like level 49 with 5 solid days of play on the counter - whereas I'm still in the 30s. It did have it minor niggles, but I imagine 2K will sort those out and come back with an even better sequel as they seem to be a fairly astute software house.
