It must have been a Daily Mail headline that I remembered. I never experienced any problems playing conkers when I was younger.

I threw a great plank of wood into a tree to get some fresh conkers down, the plank had a large rusty nail at one end that tore open my thumb. So not playing conkers, but certainly related.

Yes but you cannot legislate against stupidity.

I would call it education. It was the only time I've ever cut myself on a rusty nail.

Pick yourself up, learn from the experience, move on.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Yes when I was a kid I had plenty of accidents never considered suing over it. Last year I slipped on some ice, yet still never considered suing. It was an accident not a failure of someone to clear the path.

TBH it looked like it was her own incompetence that made the incident worse. Drink is never a good thing with a pool close by. If the pool was full then it would have been safe for normal use.

Apparently she wasn't drunk, though no idea if she's been drinking. In the end, this was her own fault - she didn't have to enter the pool and she didn't have to dive.
