Was bored yesterday so I decided to mess around with the times that people did the Total Warrior run in.
For the 10k event there were 1500 people so I used that (largest data set).
The quickest time was 40 something minutes and the slowest was around 3 hours.
I separated the data into 10 minute blocks and plotted a graph of number of people against each time slot.
The result... a perfect distribution curve!
I've only ever seen sets of data given to me by maths teachers and books.
Heh!

Glad to see I'm not the only person that does random things like this!
But yes, you've got a decent enough sample size there that you'll start to see some reasonable correlation.

And it appears in so many places if you look closely. One of the amazing things about statistics. --- - Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk.

Oh god, I read that thinking "doesn't he realise it was a joke!". Anyway, can we stop deviating from the original topic.

From my experience statics work in 99.99% of situations. It is the interpretation that usually fails.

Ok ok, I'll stop. But the first one was stand up quality (as my maths teacher would have said, 'one for the maths parties'). Admittedly the quality did fall just a little on the third On the actual topic, after two years of alevel maths, I no longer do statistics. In any form
