Just how big a cut do Apple take?

I'll give this a go, once I figure out why my frikkin phone has refused to appear in iTunes.

I take 70% of each sale. Which, compared to many "standard" game distributors is a fairly good deal for developers.

£50 a year. So I'll break even after about 200 sales with the software I bought to help write (draw) it.

LOL!

He's right you know.

It's a very enjoyable game, well done. I'm all for games that do simple concepts very well. I love the sound effects :)

Can I suggest one possible improvement though? Have a warning in some form (either flash the bar and/or maybe play a siren or something) when the air bar gets low. Before I twigged exactly what was going on, I was confused as to why my game was over, assuming I'd hit something I couldn't see. And that was after I'd read the instructions. Adding a siren or flashing warning not only stops that confusion happening, it also adds a nice extra bit of panic  .

Oh, and I'd change the 'exit game' option on the end score screen to 'back to menu' - after all it doesn't actually exit the game, it just takes you back to the menu...

And one thing that isn't a request for change or a criticism but I am curious - did you consider 'tilt the screen back' to brake and discard it, or was 'touch to brake' what you decided to use from the off?

Other than that, capital effort :).

Can I suggest a mute mode? Having to quickly turn the volume down as it starts is a pain, as is having to remember to turn it back up again, when you leave the game.

Good fun though.

Another thing. I just tried to play it, whilst listening to an audiobook. It killed the book and started the game sounds.

Most games seem tp check, to see if the ipod app is playing it lets it continue. That is much better behaviour.

The game itself is addictive though.

Cool, thanks for the feedback.

I think my list of updates fir the next version is...

1. Game centre
2. Allow background music

Must just be audio books maybe? I tested the iPod app playing and starting Cut the Rope and the iPod continued but the app music also played.

When starting my app the exact sane thing happened.

May implement a check for music playing or something though. Or even just have a mute option.

A mute option is my prefered method, like Angry Birds. Styx plays the game sounds over the audio book or music (I only have audio books on my iPhone, no music, so I can't test it with music, but they should be the same, as they are played through the iPod app), which I find distracting. Maybe having game sound as a percentage slider, so you can have the music at 100% and the game sound down to 10%, 50% etc.

I've only managed to get 8219 points so far.
