Inspired by this:

http://www.gamesradar.com/f/landmarks-o ... 2947578004

The ones that spring to mind for me, in no particular order, are:

The Streets of Rage series - I can still play them to this day, against the odds.

Worms - the original game, again I still play it.

The Doom series

The Strike games (Desert, Jungle etc)

Batman Arkham Asylum

Darksiders

The CoD Modern Warfare series (even though the plot's were utterly laughable, and especially the multiplayer goodness).

The GTA series (even the fourth game to some degree).

More as they come to me... So, yours? :D

Baldur's Gate
Oblivion

If I had the chance, I could probably got back and spend another 500 hours or so on Gran Turismo 3 as well; all the others added a 'feature' that completely [LIFTED] up the game for me.

* Too much to play, too much on the way in the next three months alone...

The games that turned me into a gaming fanatic were all on the acorn a3000 and I played them all before I was about 7 or 8.

Lemmings
Nevryon
Powerband Racing
Boogie Buggie
And of course
Prince of Persia

That was about it for me for the first 5 to 6 years of my gaming life.

Escape from the planet of the robot monsters:

It had just enough charm to be very addictive believe it or not!

In chronological order:
Asteroids, Galaxians, PacMan, Frogger etc... from the mid 1980s
Elite (Electron version)
Duke Nukem 3D
Doom
Quake (all of them)
Hexen - Beyond Heretic (still has the best weapons I've ever seen)
Descent 1 in multi-player over a serial cable, later D2 over IPX/SPX

Then I got the internet, and my joystick hand found other uses.
