The Galaxy Tab 10.1 appeared on Amazon.de yesterday - but the company is based in Belgium or Luxemburg, not Germany, which might be why they appeared.

There are no electrical stores around here, so I can't see if they are for sale in shops - although I suspect not, as the block on Germany still, theoretically remains.

http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/369424/apple-ups-ante-with-dutch-legal-attack-on-samsung

Quote:
Apple is seeking to block sales of all Samsung Galaxy devices, phones as well as tablets, across Europe.

It mirrors an earlier call for an EU-wide injunction banning sales that was granted in Germany, but is far more aggressive...the Dutch injunction that Apple is seeking would impose a ban on the sale and distribution and could effect all of Europe and all Galaxy products," he said.

If in doubt, ban the products from the country through which all Samsung products are imported to the whole of Europe!

http://www.techradar.com/news/mobile-computing/tablets/apple-chases-europe-wide-samsung-ban-994105

Quote:
It's a stealth attack, with the Californian company hoping to cut off European supply of the devices by going after Samsung and its partners in the Netherlands, Europe's supply entry point for Samsung's hardware.

And it's not just the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 this time; Apple's complaint lists every Galaxy device – from smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy SII to the tablet line up.

EDIT: continued in the next thread!

I don't see how any of the Galaxy phones resemble the iPhone, certainly not enough to warrant any kind of injunction.

Certainly Apple's case in Europe is severely weakened since they can't rely on their software patent portfolio over here.

What any sane person believes on looking at the devices kind of doesn't matter. What matters is what their respective packs of lawyers can convince a court is true. What happens in court has a fairly... loose relationship with reality some times.

Well I don't know about the legislation in the Netherlands, but "reasonable person" is the test in the United Kingdom. I doubt even a judge with a 'loose' relationship with reality could confuse the two.

They are all trying to emulate the iPad in one way or another. Apple need to keep improving the overall usefulness of the iPad incrementally. They all have similarities because of the basic design.
