Labour have launched a campaign against a proposed cull of badgers in England to curb tuberculosis in cattle.
The government - backed by its senior scientific advisors - is in favour of a cull to stop badgers spreading the disease to cattle.

Would this be the cull the advisers had been proposing for some time but Labour kept on putting off the decision until after the election.
Quote:
"We need a science-led policy to manage cattle movements and develop a vaccine to tackle TB in badgers and cattle. Instead, the Tory-led government has reduced the number of vaccine trials Labour commissioned to just one."

Now they want a science led policy, Its amazing it takes a General Election which they lose to discover the value of science led policy rather than public opinion voter friendly policies.

It has not be definitive that badgers are responsible for transmission of bovine TB. The cull is because farmers demand it. Unless the science is definitive it does nothing to reassure farmers politicians and voters alike.

Now isn't a time for science, there's an election on the horizon.

You want science to be definitive!!! You may have to be very patient.
