Ordered some camera goodies, went for Saturday delivery then found out I won't be home on Saturday. So went back to the website but no option to change delivery dates other than to other saturdays. Cancelled the order. Email tells me they haven't charged. Credit card account tells me otherwise. Frustratingly, because I've just bought my laptop, I was already close to the credit limit. Buying this stuff was fine but meant I was on the limit. So I will have to wait for them to refund me before I can reorder and that means I won't get them this weekend.
Mega-pissed off!

Increased my limit and it was ready next day if it makes any difference...

I'm happy with the limit I have. Paypacket next week will pay it off. Just frustrating. If the refund comes through by tomorrow, I'll reorder via credit card. If not, I may just pay by debit card/paypal.

If you buy through a good company then no money should be taken until the goods have been dispatched. However, even then the money is likely to have been ear-marked/set aside by the card company. The email would have reached you quickly but it may take a little while longer for the 'payment' to be refunded as it probably goes through several process layers.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I've got into the habit of selecting all the text in the email and hitting ctrl-c before sending for this very reason

+1 I've fallen foul of that a few times, so I always copy before sending.

If it's a lengthy post, I always copy and paste. It's horrendous on the iPhone as it will frequently refresh the page if you go load another window and then switch back.

Yes this happens now on Safari on the mac so can be a real pain. I have lots of tabs open and it is constantly refreshing the page.
