I definitely was not suggesting that an iMac is portable in the conventional sense. As for a definition of portable - a 17" laptop. A 17" Mac Book pro weighs 2.56Kg or 5.6 lbs and considering many women lug around a handbag weighing more than 20 lbs would qualify it as portable. Though they would moan about the weight. Portability is dependant on lifestyle. Considering many things can be done with a phone why not put all your docs and presentations on a iPad or iPhone. As long as you can connect to a projector you could get away with even less kit.

As for battery power for the whole day that has been a problem for years. So you would have to take a power cable or adaptor anyway.

oh sweet jesus that thing looks cool

that touch screen on the side of the keyboard looks awesome, just think if you where playing a driving game you could have it set to be your side/rear view mirror!

I think thats where the bulk of the "premium" pricing comes in to be honest, wouldnt be surprised if they made the same laptop with out that for $500 cheaper

Still, most laptops these days arnt really portable, more so than a desktop, and a hell of a lot easier to move, but not completely portable, so it doesnt make a difference

Wouldnt be surprised if you see a major gaming team start using these tbh

My first concern is that the thing will overheat, and rapidly.

On the portability issue, I personally use a backpack with a padded section for my 15.6" laptop if I have to*, but I'd hate to be continually shifting it about day to day for a few reasons:

It's light as these things go, but still cumbersome.

The build quality doesn't seem the best

It's never long before I need the charger...

* I hate laptop bags with a passion.
