Just saw an MS ad that portrayed a woman who had a four year old desktop PC and didn't see the need to upgrade to a laptop (that wasn't even her own notion, seemingly), as if that was a tragedy. It's made even worse then when laptops start 'catching her eye'... Whoever advises MS on ads needs sacking EDIT - Tesco has an ad taking the piss out of choosing a laptop by it's colour

+1 I was thinking something similar when I saw that advert too.

The issue with that ad is the woman got a lot of assistance to help her choose. That rarely happens in a retailer.

I think the follwing phrase would work quite well. "If you've got it, then we can reverse polarise it."

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Enjoy: http://igor113.livejournal.com/51213.htmlFWIW, this is one of the anti-ship missile equipped variants.

The Caspian Sea Monster or Ekranoplane if I remember rightly. These were designed to move hundreds of troops very quickly and cheaply vast distances.

Looks like it would use a million gallons a second; it's all engine!

The Caspian Sea Monster was the progenitor of this variant. Same layout as this one, but this one's much smaller and was missile equipped. The USSR had a small fleet of this variant, ready to hail fiery death across European shores. Invisible to both radar and hydrophones, immune to mines and faster than any boat, it was a bit of a problem for the west.

And that's just one reason why it's awesome.

Not invisible to radar just flew below normal radar but downward looking radar would find them easily enough. Also only immune to mines when flying. As soon as they touched down they had the same problems of ships with mines. Still very formidable and yes very worrying to the West for a while.

They were capable of beach landings - so marine mines wouldn't be much of an issue, but common land anti tank ones might be thinking about it.
