Sorry mate.

PS. I know John got there before me, but I simply couldn't resist. I am also aware that this is a super obvious one, but I couldn't come up with anything better that JV hadn't already.

Damn that Vella!!!

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Electric motor made from a single molecule

Quote:
The butyl methyl sulphide molecule was placed on a clean copper surface, where its single sulphur atom acted as a pivot.

The tip of a scanning tunnelling microscope - a tiny pyramid with a point just an atom or two across - was used to funnel electrical charge into the motor, as well as to take images of the molecule as it spun.

It spins in both directions, at a rate as high as 120 revolutions per second.

Had to retune my freeview box so I could watch BBC News. Edited the channel list and I'll have to go through this s**t again in 2-3 weeks!

Long day.... 1 big project finished ahead of schedule after a big push last night and demoed without any coding hitches this afternoon, a new project to retrofit some bits for a client with a possible redesign and a couple of big changes

Yet the stress was from a Chicken Little "sky is falling down" situation with a dev making a big song and dance about their code being out of date and a failure to do even simple checks that would have seen the source code was commented and clearly laid out.

ION.... Had an idea for a new web app and a possible money related system, think I'm going to look at the web app development later this weekend or in some free time at work as it could be a decent way to get my web coding skills up to scratch and start out with some mobile development :D but £60 a year for the domain (a single *.io domain) I want is a bit steep for me at the minute until I get an idea down and a proof of concept sorted

I'm a Euro Millions Lottery winner!

£5.20.
But I'll keep working, it won't change me.

Two quick questions regarding laptop drives:

Will a 16MB buffer make much difference over 8MB when copying or transferring large files?

and in a similar vein,

Is a 3 Gbit/s data transfer rate over a 300 MBps rate as good as it sounds?
