The buffer size will make no difference at all with copying large files; it's more about reading and writing lots of small files. The sustained transfer rate is exactly what matters when copying large files, although it depends if your laptop can actually keep up with it!

Lovely, cos I think I fall somewhere in the middle (usage and pricing of what I'm gonna buy!). Laptop's an AMD Athlon II X2 with 3Gb DDR3 (Argos ripped my dad off with it)... Anyway, thanks!

they are actually the same: both refer to the SATA II interface which is rated at 3Gb/s (giga-bits) throughput, although its sometimes written as 300MB/s (mega-bytes, note the difference), but they mean the same thing in this instance

We've just taken our 12 yellow labs to the fish shop (labidochromis sp.) they are finally big enough to sell. I bought 3 zebra loaches for the interest tank upstairs which is infested with snails (the loaches should eat the snails *yum yum*) and I've taken 25 of the 63 baby pseudotropheus sp. babies out of the big tank and moved them to the smaller tank so they all have a bit of room to grow. Busy fishy day all round

I blistered my bottom lip in a random boiling pasta disasta' tonight, the blister burst while I was drinking a cup of tea and it *REALLY* hurts now

Just stepped outside for a smoke, closed the door behind me, looked up while reaching for my lighter and whoosh, a meteorite streaks across the sky. I love it when that happens.

Yes most computers can do that. Though I suspect this is for those people without optical drives on their laptops?

The previous developers on a project for a new client have a LOT of explaining to do, might even need to get the police involved

Why is it that whenever it's a major news story that some celebrity has had naked pics leaked, you can never find the bloody things?? It's like the internet police remove the pics from wherever they were and THEN tell the world. In mean, WTF?!

Kind of knew that anyway, as did anyone who has seen 'Lost in Translation'. Or indeed any other film she's made where she wasn't filmed entirely from the front.
I'm continually amazed by the desire of celebrities to apparently take embarrassing photographs of themselves on mobile phones which are then hacked or lost. I've never had the notion or desire to take naked photographs of myself. Why would you? Do you need to be reminded of what you look like naked? Like you'd forget? Don't you get a big clue every time you take a shower? And say for some bizarre reason you do want to have pictures of yourself with no clothes on, for vanity's sake or whatever... You're rich! PAY A DECENT PHOTOGRAPHER. Probably any professional snapper in the world would be happy to be paid to take photographs of someone like Johanssen in whatever pose and description she preferred, even if they then had to hand over all the images at the end and could never publish or publicise them band were required to sign an NDA. As an artistic exercise alone it'd be something any half decent portrait photographer would chew their arm off to do.
Even if you had some odd romantic desire to send them to whoever you were in a relationship with, don't you think they might actually prefer a photo of you that actually makes you look good, rather than some fairly horrible grainy camera photo? 'Here's a photo of me. I look like [LIFTED] compared to how I look like in person. Does it turn you on?'
I mean.. what? WHAT?
Just stop it, OK, all of you. For God's sake.
