That character was always a weird fit for me, but that might have just been the Batman stories...

If I hadn't collected so many over the years (Aliens, Highlander, Slash from GnR, you name it), I'd probably start with those too! :)

Just because it was successful does not mean there has to be a sequel. There are plenty of good story ideas out there if the studios were a little braver. Many do not need huge budgets anyway.

Going by what I've read of Kick-Ass 2 the comic, it would be a bit stale now anyway...

The first film of 2012 in the continuing line of direct-to-video, DC Universe Original Animated Movies will premiere footage at this year's New York Comic Con.

The film is loosely based on the storyline JLA: Tower of Babel by Mark Waid from the JLA comic arc found between issues #43-46. In the comic, the always-prepared Batman compiles files on his fellow Leaguers, including their weaknesses, only to have them stolen by Ra's Al Ghul who in turn uses them to defeat the Justice League of America one by one.

Fox Developing Marvel's 'Frank Castle' The Punisher Television Series!
Quote:
The trades of Variety, among other media outlets, are suggesting that Disney's ABC channel has sold a television series based on famous Marvel comics character Frank Castle, better known as 'The Punisher,' to FOX. Learning only last year that Marvel Studios retained the rights to the character, find out below vaguely what they have planned for the vigilante.

The Punisher is described as an hour-long procedural with a Marvel signature and a new take on one of comic book giant’s iconic characters, Frank Castle, a rising star detective with the NYC Police Department who moonlights as the vigilante Punisher seeking justice for those the system has failed. Bernero will executive produce along with Marvel. This marks the first sale this season and the first one ever outside of ABC for Disney-owned Marvel, which is developing TV series based on its properties through ABC Studios.

With ABC series adaptations of The Incredible Hulk and Jessica Jones under development, it seems Marvel-Disney are making use of owning their characters, going beyond the bigscreen; as well they should. Anyhow, while there's three feature films based on The Punisher, the last of which in 2008, do you think a television series does 'Frank Castle' justice?

Gah! They're going to ruin my fave character of all time!

They deserve to be....PUNISHED!

I'd be astounded if they got that right, mostly cos Frank is willing to use anti-tank weaponry etc  , a watered down Frank probably won't work.

On thinking of ways round it, they could have the Mob effectively steal the show, or somewhat go down the Dexter route of dark comedy (often prevalent in Punisher comics). By the sound of it at present, they're just using the Punisher name cos they can, when what they've got is actually closer to The Equalizer...
