Looks like Ed Miliband's speech is so boring all the power's gone down.

Looks like R5Live are the only media getting anything, only audio.

Edit: Nah, it's back up now, someone must have got some more credit for the meter.

It's not like anyone would believe a word he says anyway.

I don't think it's that it's just that all I hear when he speaks is 'Wensleydale'.

Labour got the wrong MIliband. David would have been better. Ed just seems so, well:
• Timid
• Inexperienced
• Apologetic for just being there
• Unconvincing

He certainly doesn’t strike me as someone who could talk on the same level as other world leaders. I think he’d just end up spilling his tea.

David was too far to the right for most people. Plus ultra slimey.

I don't think it matters. Much like the tories reputation was ruined for years after the 97 election, Labours reputation has been ruined by their massive borrowing. It may be years if not decades before people trust them again.

I doubt that. I suspect that the economy will tank so badly that the Tories will be just as toxic. The crisis was caused by the banks. While Labour were lax in regulations the Tories were wanting even less regulation and certainly did not criticise Gordon for lax financial regulation. Until the crisis it would have rested on how popular Gordon was. They could have lost on that alone.

With the Eurozone as it is, it was always going to tank no matter who won the election and what their policies were. We rely so much on exports it was inevitable.

I don't think it's quite that bad, realistically you can't blame the whole world economic crisis on Labour.

You're correct, but at the end of the day the guy in charge always gets the blame.

However, I think give it another 18 months or so and people are going to be saying 'well, we know Labour weren't that good, but just look at the pig's ear the other two lots have made of things since'.

I will accept that the Eurozone is a problem that would have been a problem no matter who one. Though until they change policy then we suffer reduced exports as a result. The fact that we will now not be able to export our wy out of trouble as the coalition expected means that things will get worse here.

That's generally how these things work, particularly when one party has successive election wins.
